Hey guys. I would have tried to post here sooner, but I just got home from Nebraska. Usually I try to remember to check in here every few days or so.

Anyway... I'm gonna be totally honest here and say that I think TKK is at the end of the line, and I've felt this way for some time. Even before it got to this point. I think it's nearing that time for us to say goodbye to TKK. To be blunt, no one seems to have the time or desire to put into TKK that it needs to survive and do well. There was a point when things first started slowing down where I was posting a bunch of topics every day, searching all over the internet for things to say to start discussion. And that worked really well, for a while. But the truth is, I got sick of being (mostly) the only person doing it. There were a couple of other people who really put a LOT into keeping TKK alive, and I'm not trying to say it was only me ever doing so. You know who you guys are.

But I've said it before many times, one person, even just a few people, cannot keep a community like this thriving. It's a group effort, and as much as everyone has said in the past, "wow, I want TKK active again." "Wouldn't it be cool if we revamped TKK again?" "Wow, people really need to post here." And so on, these things only breathe life into TKK for a short amount of time before things start going well, people stop putting in the effort because I guess they just expect things to stay the way they are, and we find ourselves in yet another slump. And this one is quite possibly the worst ever. I think it might even be worse than the time right before Tristan and I took over with the first big revamp.

It's sad to see TKK like this. It truly makes me sad. But at the same time, I'm not doing anything to make it better. I've tried so many times to reach out to everyone, to say that if we want TKK to thrive we all need to put in the effort. But I got tired of seeing it being just the same few people (with so many others whining about low activity), so I chose to use my time differently.

Even with a baby, I'm still on the internet quite a lot. I'm on Facebook and Tumblr for a good portion of each day. So it's not that I no longer have time for goofing off on the internet. However, I did make a conscious decision to stop posting on TKK. If the rest of the community were to make it happen and get TKK to be active once again, I'm sure I'd come back and continue to play an active role in keeping TKK running. Before, too much of the activity was relying on me, and I will not do that again. But I know this community too well to think that there's a possibility things will get better- if they do, it will only be for a very short amount of time until everyone decides to stop putting in the effort.

So I guess that's my opinion. I've tried to keep the cynicism off of the public forums in the past (for the most part), but I think we're past the point of that mattering.
