  2. First photo shoot with my new camera

    Just a couple of months ago, I got myself a new Nikon DS3000 and couldn't wait to frolic out into the world and take pictures of everything. Unfortunately, between school, work, and back surgery, I had no time to sit down and play with my camera and learn how to use it. Now that it's spring time, school's over, and I can move freely again, I've been busting out my camera at every chance.

    One of my best friends, who I've known pretty much my entire life, is leaving for the Air Force soon, and he asked me if I would take some pictures of him before he left (he leaves this Tuesday on the 17th). I warned him that I wasn't proficient yet with my camera or my editing program (GIMP) and that he'd have to bear with me. Not really caring, he accepted, and we ventured to two well known parks in our neighborhood.

    Long story short: Photo shoot went well, there were some pictures I was disappointed in and others I absolutely loved. My most favorite one so far that I've edited is this one (yes, I have a Deviant Art...again, though I'm going to make sure I use this one).

    If you're my friend on Facebook, you'll see this picture along with the other one's I've edited so far.
    Comments and critiques are welcomed since I'm quite new to this and would really like to learn and grow and feedback always helps with that process. :)
