In Topic: Girl booted from theatre for texting, sends angry voicemail.
29 June 2011 - 04:36 PM
I don't even get service in most movie theaters, so I can't text during movies.
I'm one of those people who aren't annoyed by it, but, like everyone else said, it's annoying/rude/inconsiderate to talk on your phone in the theater. If that call is so important that you have to answer it, take it outside.
I don't think a person should be completely kicked out of a theater for texting one time. I understand policy is policy, but you can warn a person first. Obviously, if they keep texting, then they deserve to be thrown out.
You know what else is annoying and should warrant removal from a theater?
When a parent has a small child at a showing that is not appropriate for a child (kind of like a midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean) and the child cries non-stop.
I understand kids get restless or whatever, but if your child starts crying in the middle of a movie and you can't get them quiet within 30 seconds, you take them OUTSIDE of the theater and settle them down. Don't just leave them to cry, it's so rude and inconsiderate of the other movie goers. (This happened to me and I was PISSED. I wanted to find these irresponsible parents and just punch them in the face). -

In Topic: Smoking

I don't smoke, nor will I ever. I have a minor form of asthma, I'm scared I'd lose a lung if I tried. Basically EVERYONE in my family smokes except for me and my older sister (who also has asthma). I hate it, because my parents smoke around me and my sister, though they've tried to keep away from us when they light up because we complain about it. We're just so sensitive to the second hand smoke, it's suffocating. Also, because my parents smoke all day every day, the hose smells like it (to outsiders) and all of my clothes ALWAYS smell like it, too.
I have a lot of friends who smoke, and even though my mother does it, she always disapproves of my friends doing it. She says she regrets ever starting, and she never likes seeing young people smoking because she doesn't want them to get addicted like she did. She's been wanting to quit for years, but it hasn't been easy. My dad is slowly cutting down.
My mom always jokes with me that it's my fault that she can't quit smoking because I always provide new stress for her, what with all of my international journeys and my 5 surgeries over the past 4 years.
Either way, I've been conditioned from a young age to associate smoking as an unwanted act. Though my parents smoked around us as children, they always taught my sister and I to avoid cigarettes (along with other drugs and alcohol as we got older). -

Thanks, Mew!! :3
Also, Cypher, we have like....a billion tattoo shops in and around Pittsburgh. Some are top notch, others are pretty shady, but if you come here for a visit, I'll gladly take you to Kyklops for a tat.
