Has anyone read the books yet? I've read the first 3 books: Song of Ice and Fire, A Clash of Kings, and A Storm of Swords. I've never really been a big reader, but these books are amazing and very graphic. I started reading the books after I watched the entire first season of Game of Thrones, and might I tell you...this is one of the best shows I've ever watched. I am hooked. The next book I'll be reading is A Feast For Crows, which I heard is a short book, only 774 pages (compared to 914 pages with Storm of Swords). Afterward I'll be looking for the current book, A Dance of Dragons. I cannot wait!

I wasn't aware that the first book had its name changed to the name of the series. :|

Yes I do know that, but you do know it's Game of Thrones: A song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones: Clash of Kings, Game of Thrones: A Feast For Crows, etc. Just like how's there's Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire. Is it incorrect if I just state the name of the book without the main header? Stop trying to troll, if you have anything to contribute to this book discussion then let's speak of it. :-)

Dude, Game of Thrones is the name of the first book, A Song of Ice and Fire is the name of the series... who's trolling who now?

Oh, and for the hell of it, I have the first book and just started reading "A Game of Thrones" the other day.

no real opinion yet as I only had time to get a page or two in and the beginning was a tad dry.

A page or two in is... boring I admit. But that first chapter and the first part of the show are what got me completely and totally hooked. I've not been this excited over a series of books for an incredibly long time.

I have to admit though, I thought the series was called Song of Fire and Ice, too. And Game of Thrones was the name of the first book in the series :pfff: But I don't really care.

All I care is that I wish I could read faster...but I"m such a slow reader T_T And the edition of the books I have, have really small writing and after a while I actually get sore eyes =/ I don't know anyone that's read or watched the show, which makes me sad because I do'nt have anyone to get excited about it with lol

Yeah, if I end up liking the book, which I figure I will, I'll start getting the nicer editions. I have the tiny little $7.99 paperback edition right now, but if it's a series I really like I prefer hardback anyways. :D I'll even replace my book 1 eventually... yay for used book stores!

I bought a box set because I hate having an incomplete set x_x

But in saying that, it doesn't have the latest book.

I buy all my books on Ebay, I refuse to buy those small paperbacks, as the paper is cheap and it could leave smudges. I buy the large paper back books, though for the last book I will be buying hardcover as that's all it's in at the moment.

Any thick paper back book is prone to damage of some kind. But I don't particularly care, I'm extremely meticulous in the care of my books.

The large paperbacks I have are in great condition. I don't mean to use them as a coaster or anything, so they will more than likely stay in that condition. I hate the small ones, as the pages feel thin and when I'm reading something, sometimes my fingers make smudges on the words...that's why I avoid those. :-p

I suppose, but the truth is, I'm a huge book worm. I like books in forms and shapes and sizes, and as much as I love new looking books, I love used and read books even more. Something about old looking books that are smudged, crinkled, dog-eared and frayed that make me excited in my pants. I'm actually reading Clash of Kings right now...bleh still trying to get through the first chapter T_T

So you're still reading the prologue? I at least go through a couple chapters a day.

So I just finished A Feast For Crows, and so far it's the most dull one out there. There's tons of great things that happen, but A Storm of Swords by far has the most 'WTF moments'. I bought A Dance of Dragons the other day, the first hardcover that I bought for the series. Will start reading it tomorrow. :-)

More "wtf moments" you say? Damn... I thought GoT had plenty of WTF moments hahaha.

Finally gotten into Clash of Kings. The prologue was so boring up until the last 3 pages. Other then that, I'm enjoying the book thoroughly so far :D
