I was planning on answering this with: "Duh, perfecting 3D" but now I have to retract that statement.
All I have to say is:
Awesome

Thats really cool actually, but I don't care much for that stuff. I honestly don't even know what blu-ray does, I don't keep up with it. XD My mom bought a 50inch high def flat screen, I see the difference, but it doesn't do much for me. I honestly wouldn't spend my money on that.

It looks incredible, but I'm more than content with my current setup. XD I just wish my XBOX would play DVDs at the same resolution as games.
That's about the only time I notice a difference.

Currently Reading:
THE EYE OF THE WORLD
AKIRA Vol. 1

I'm content where I am now. I mean, no console, no tv, all I have is an old monitor, desktop running ubuntu which I use as a media server, and a laptop. Nice, simple.
And plus, I mostly just read comics and graphic novels in my space time. :3

I feel the same. I'm perfectly content with DVDs. The quality is noticeably better, but not so much that I'd spend a ton of money on a Blu-Ray player and like $10 more per movie. My grandparents have one, but they don't buy Blu-Rays, just rent them from Netflix. So I guess that's not so bad.

I have an HD tv and a Blu Ray players (both Christmas presents my parents got on the cheap). The DVDs aren't that bad to buy if they just come with the Blu Ray disc. But if I want a Disney movie on Blu Ray, it usually comes with that disc, plus the DVD, plus the digital copy. (And now they're starting to squeeze in the 3D version in there.) That usually racks up the price to about $30-$40 depending on when/where you get it at. So lately I've just been buying Disney movies on DVD and not Blu Ray. (Not like you really need High Definition of cartoons anyway.)
Though I will say, Avatar is amazing in HD. You can see Jake's whiskers in the beginning.

The only thing I'm really stingy about when it comes to quality is sound. If an audio track is low quality, or the quality of speakers etc at movie theaters is buggy, it pisses me off. D: When I can, I've been trying to not get mp3's and going for lossless qualities.
Video quality is really cool, and I agree with you guys in that it's not a huge importance to me, but I looovvvee going into Best Buy or something, (Which is now a bit of a drive because my town doesn't have one.
) and looking at their high quality stuff.
