So, I've been thinking lately that I may either minor in graphic design or dual major in graphic design to help with my whole "I wanna be an advertiser" scheme I have. Before I decide though, I wanted to experiment in using Photoshop for something other than art. This is what I did:

It's Biebs of course. I really hate the almost neon purple shadowing on Bieber himself, but it was that or neon blue. Also, I'm very unsure if I like the text or not. I like the concept of it, even though I think I could do better in depicting him shattering glass, but I'm on very limited time here. :despair: I may go and revise it later though. Anyway, CnC please. :)

Also: First sig in years. :D

I decided to forgo reading my book for tomorrow morning's class to revise this even before anyone really saw it. Here it is:

Well, if you want to do sigmaking (or graphic design in general), you should look at some tutorials and guides. You'd be surprised at how much can go into the most basic composition. This one in particular is super duper excellent: http://thekingdomkey...-and-sigmaking/

I definitely like version two more than version one--it's got a bit more to it, and I like the idea that you made it look like he was kicking some glass and breaking it or something. :3 The text I actually like, the arrangement is cool and the placement is good--though I think you could've made it a bit bigger.

The actual manipulation on the stock itself is a bit odd. I respect that you're trying effects and everything, but it took me a while to make things out--and even now, his position looks a little awkward/hunchbacked. It's fine to modify the original picture--encouraged, even--but make sure you're not overpowering it too much.

The background seems a bit bland too--try playing with textures, smudging, and filters.

Overall though, considering you said you've been away from sigmaking for a long time, it's not bad! Looking forward to see how you progress. =]

I was actually in the middle of that tutorial when I did this! I didn't have time to go all the way through it though, but I plan on reading it a few times to ingrain the information. Thanks for commenting and helping me improve. :) The thing about the stock is that it's just a weird picture. This is it:

As you can tell it's already been photoshopped, but it was the best quality and biggest one of this image I could find. Though, the way it looks in the sig it looks like he isn't in midair, which he is, and that's something I wanted to convey (him jumping) that I didn't quite get to do because I wanted to work with a specific size of sig. And I agree about the texture thing, I just have a hard time finding things in photoshop, as my version is in le francais. Thanks again for commenting. :) I meant to post the stock anyway but forgot.
