So... I totally got chills when watching the introduction movie to the game. I'm soo excited for this storyline.

Update:

Just beat the fourth gym. Caught Zoroark this morning. I've decided to stop using Victini, mainly because I don't like relying that heavily on a legendary throughout the game. I'm going to train a Gothita to be a strong physic, and I'm not sure on a fire type. I have a Darumaka, but it's a bit behind the rest of my team and I really don't want to spend a lot of time training it.

I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning against my better judgement and went through the Elite 4...

then the epic story climax involving Zekrom and two final battles...



Zekrom's a beastly BAMF. I could not have made it through those last two without it, honestly.

I had my entire team at lvl 50 before taking on the E4, and for the most part it was a cakewalk, but the Fighting type user was a bit tricky, as I only had one pokemon with super effective moves, and they all knew a rock type attack that could humiliate it.

So now I've technically beaten the main story, and I think I'm gonna take a little break from White and go back to Black, where I'm basically exactly where mew is. XD

I'm not far right now. I'm through the 3rd gym, and I am currently stuck at N, the green-haired bastard. (though his hair is still cool.

Burgh was easy to beat, mostly cuz I picked Tepig as my starter. He's a Pignite atm. My current team roster is as follows, and it probably needs adjusting.

Just got the game tonight for my birthday. Have been playing a little bit, not too far yet. I'm training for the first gym right now. Starting to regret picking Snivy as a starter... Definitely the best looking choice, but I forgot how much I hate Grass types.

Also, question... how do I make it so my running shoes are always working instead of holding B?

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they removed all the best features from HG/SS when they made Black and White... the pokemon following you and auto shoes are gone. ;~;

I see night/day in the game. It's most notable in the large city, cuz the streetlights turn on.

Yeah, they do actually have night/day... it just isn't quite as noticable as in older games where night time looked like the light was robbed from the world.

Let's see... in Black, I beat gym 5 this afternooon and I'm on my way to Chargestone Cave. I walked around for ever and ever looking for shaking patches of grass and on my 4th or 5th patch I found an Emonga.

It's in my team for now, because I need an electric type, but I'll be catching a Joltik in the cave and replacing both my Scolipede and Emonga, and probably bringing in the ice cream cone for the gym. (gonna catch the snowflake afterwards for my ice type... they're pretty badass.)

Hmm. It wasn't a significant enough difference for me to notice- maybe if I had been playing during the switch it would have been better.

I ended up also getting Black for my birthday today. Pretty big surprise- was definitely NOT expecting that. Now I guess I don't have to be too upset about choosing the wrong starter. I may just continue playing through White with gen 5 Pokemon (I'm currently training for the second gym, and have a team I can at least put up with I guess- better than stopping playing to wait until I can get wifi), though unfortunately most of the Pokemon I actually like are... not very good. But I guess since I've got both games, I can put up with it for this one and then get a HGSS team traded into my Black and play through that fully with older Pokemon, which would be cool.

also, I tried the ice cream cone out but I couldn't take it... I hate it so much.

I'll have to wait until after the 6th gym for my ice-type.

On the bright side, my Scolipede came back on my team, which is good because I put a shit ton of effort into raising it before I caught my Joltik. XD doesn't feel so wasteful now.

EDIT- evolved Smugleaf and Aragog, and the rest of the team is at 35 save for Scolipede... because it's getting swapped anyways.

Well, Smugleaf just raped Clay.

I'm starting to struggle with working out my team, realizing that using Pokemon I like from this generation makes for a kind of unbalanced and weak team. I got rid of my Liepard Neko (one of the Pokemon I liked a lot this generation) and replaced it with a Sandile, which I don't care for but is much stronger and all around better. I'll probably also be replacing my zebra (can't remember the second evo's name) soon now that I've got my Emonga (I know Mew got me one, but... the rustling grass thing didn't turn out to be too difficult and I got my first Emonga in less than a half hour on Route 5 If it's any consolation, I kind of named her after you!)

Sandile's family is BEASTLY... hell, once it gets to 60, it even learns a Dragon attack, which is pretty neat. I seriously love that family.

I'm saved in front of the 6th Gym Leader... my Gurdurr learned Rock Slide so that's making it a lot easier, since I'll need him for the next gym too, as I don't have a fire type. Between him and my Galvantula, I'm set.

Becky- Aw yay! I'm glad you got one, and it's named after me! (Weird, the one I caught was a female too. I may just rename it "Becky". Or... hm. Maybe "Tyrant B". I don't know what to name it for it to be a subtle hint.)


I beat my fifth gym a couple of days ago, but I've been at work and catching up with homework for the past two days I haven't had time to play past that. Anyway, here's my current team. I think I may drop my Herdier, Victini (definitely dropping soonish), and Zoroark. I dunno what to put in my team though.

I was able to play a little last night and this morning since I ended up waking up before my alarm and couldn't get back to sleep.

I beat Skyla and I'm partway into Twist Mountain. I changed the date on my DS and set it ahead by a month so the season would change, because Cryogonal is nigh impossible to find in any season but Winter. XD I found one on like my 5th encounter after the change, and then another. O_O gonna switch it back next time I play...

I really want a better name for the snowflake... heck, I should have made it DR. then at least it'd be a batman reference.

Well, I'm about to go to the 6th gym. I've been doing a lot of training and switching around my team... pretty happy with it right now, I suppose. Hanging on to Bolt until I can get an Axew, and after that I may be done messing with my team- I can't really think of any other Pokemon from this generation that I want, and this team seems fairly balanced.

Mm... I caught a Deerling last night. It's like the Emonga to my Becky. But it kind of sucks because it has one Grass move. And it's Leach Seed. It's replaced Victini in my team.


Rawly-Level 27

Deerling was one of the Pokemon I really liked in this generation and wanted to use, but I was dumb and picked Snivy as my starter... I don't like Grass much to begin with and didn't want two Grass types on my team, so I skipped Deerling.

I actually like Snivy's evolutions a lot better than the other two, but I don't really like grass starters so I didn't pick it. (And I absolutely hate Tepig's evolutions, or else he would have been my first choice.) Deerling is going to be my grass type, though it doesn't really learn many grass moves. I guess I'm kind of thankful for that, but still.


I actually really like how they made a lot of hybrid type Pokemon in this generation. Like Deerling is Normal and Grass, and I've seen a few that are Ghost and another type.

For the record, I'm currently looking for a replacement for my Serperior.

I've been a little annoyed with it's moves, and the fact that it can't learn any TMs that I want it to... then I checked its moveset and honestly it kinda sucks. XD (to me) My Samurott and Emboar could both wipe the floor with this thing, even if they were all the same level.

I'm thinking of switching in Ferroseed, as it's Grass/Steel, learns much better moves, and the Steel will help make up for the lack of a fire type in the 7th gym.

I'm also looking to switch out my Gurdurr, as plain fighting types annoy the balls out of me, and I'm very close to getting a fighting type TM. I'm torn, though... because it's only a few levels from learning Stone Edge, a beastly rock type attack.

AND I'm looking for a replacement water-type... I'm starting to really dislike Panpour, and I think the monkeys' evolutions... leave much to be desired. especially the water monkey. possibly going for a Frillish, the ghost/water jellyfish.

So yeah, my Smugleaf's days on my team are likely numbered... this is probably the first time I've ever even considered removing my starter from my team before beating the main story. I really regret going with Snivy, but I already had a Tepig from the first time I started it. XD Next playthrough, I'm probably not using my starter at all after the first gym... I'll be breeding lvl 1 versions of all the pokemon I want.

So I beat the 6th gym very easily. I just have to wonder, "Was it supposed to be that easy?" I entered the gym with a Zebstrika I picked up off the streets at level 27, and it pretty much raped the entire gym.

Anyway, here is my team as of now. I have stopped doing the Beatles name thing since they have hardly any male names. I also may change Rawly to it's formal version, Raleigh, since he looks much more proper now.
