Regarding my absence

Hey guys.

Just wanted to give you guys an update on why I haven't been around as much. I know I made a post about a month ago saying I was back but never really made a return. So I'll explain it a bit.

I just recently moved out of my mom's apartment (for the 2nd time in 2 years) into a 3 bedroom apartment with my 2 cousins. I took time off work last Friday (Feb 25th) and we spent the entire day moving. The lease signing was at 9AM and we didn't stop working until about 1AM. We did stop for breakfast and lunch during the day but it was still a really long and exhausting day. So obviously, Saturday and Sunday consisted of more moving and organizing as well. Also at this point, I didn't have internet access except from my phone so I was able to get on facebook and check my gmail. We then were having trouble setting the cable up but got that going. We didn't actually get the internet set up until about 4-5 days ago.

I then took my driver's test on Tuesday for the 2nd time (again taking time off work for half the day) only to have the car's battery die before I could even start the test even though I had just driven the car to the DMV. So now I'm not sure when I'll be taking it again. So Tuesday morning after I couldn't take my test, I was already feeling like shit. Sore throat, headache, stuffed up nose. It would get worse. Thursday, my eyes started acting up. I've got allergies pretty bad and I was trying not to miss work but I ended up leaving after only being there a half day due to my eyes. So as I got home, I thought I could try to sleep it off but that wasn't the case at all. They actually got infected and I could hardly see.

So I had my gramps take me to the hospital at 4PM on Thursday. My mom was already there so she said she'd take me home. Well, the bitch at the front counter neglected to tell me that I had to give my paperwork to the check out person in waiting room A (I don't go to the doctor very often, if at all, I don't even know my doctor's name). I had overheard that they closed at 5:30PM. So we're sitting there, waiting, waiting, waiting. It's not 6PM and I realize that I had to give my paperwork to the lady. So I give it to her and about 15 minutes later, finally get called in. Well, I'm then told that their pharmacy is closed and that they can't help me but feel that I definitely need to get my eyes checked and prescribed some eye drops. So she directed us to another hospital that was 40 minutes out of our way. Then I had to wait in that waiting room for 2 hours before actually being helped. The doctor wanted to test me for strep throat because I told her my throat was a little sore. She said that my eyes were definitely bad but the test for strep throat takes 15 minutes. So I'm sitting in the patient's room and about 20-25 minutes go by and finally she comes back. Though this is all that she says "You don't have strep throat, a nurse is going to prescribe you with some eye drops and some antibiotics for your congestion. Sorry for the long wait and thank you for being patient" and walked out. I had to pay a $45 copay on top of an additional $35 for the eye drops and medication. I didn't get home until about 11:30PM. I also called in sick yet again on Friday and will be short on my paycheck for the 4th week in a row, which is just fantastic seeing as I just moved into a new apartment and have to have an additional $353.33 taken out in the next day.

Lucky for me, I'm really good with my money and I know how to manage it. But to have to wait for as long as I did to get the little help I got, really pissed me off. So I've been recovering from this for the last couple of days, still sick and congested as fuck but my eyes do feel much much better. So that's just a little bit of what I've gone through the past week. We're still cleaning the new apartment and trying to get things organized so that it looks like people live there and that it's not just a storage unit. I'm hoping to try and get back into the full swing of things in the next week or two. I have missed this place a lot and feel bad having Becky and Strax do everything that they've done on their own, but they've done a great job and I greatly appreciate it.
