Sims anyone?
#1 Posted 02 February 2011 - 03:39 PM
Anyone play? I started with The Sims 1, I had the Livin' Large and Makin' Magic expansions. I never got The Sims 2 though, because the computer I had at that time couldn't handle it.
When I got a new laptop, I got The Sims 3. I love it, I have all the expansion packs and stuff packs also a ton of downloads.

Sims 2 was excellent too (mostly because of the modding :B ), and I really loved Seasons and Apartment Life.
I think Sims 3 might be taking my favorite slot, oh man. It's incredible. The Sims don't look (as) creepy anymore, Awesomemod is awesome, and I'm building a nice selection of hairs & clothes and stuff.
I haven't quite refined my building skills though, my houses in Sims 2 were works of art, but now not so much.

Then I had sims 2 with university, open for business, and seasons. Fantatic fun
Then I got sins 3 and it all went to hell. The game wouldn't work, the sims3.com message boards were rioting with "my game doesn't work" stories, and it waS months before I could play. Expansions are now $40, and I don't want the bugs anyway. And the sims 3 store is a real scam: why dint they put some of that stuff in the packs they release?
So basically
Maxis Sims- wonderful
Just EA Sims- I hate you. But the base game is fun

It was really really bad at release, but if you install EA's patches and Awesomemod, all of which are free, it's a joy to play. =]

I was addicted to the Sims 2 forEVER, and borrowed my friend's Sims 3, but then as I tried to install it, my computer informed me that it was too shitty to handle the graphics, sounds, and memory-eating of the Sims 3.

Anygay, I couldn't play The sims 2 or 3 until I got my own computers because my dad's computers couldn't handle them. I could only play sims 1 SOMETIMES.
Also I made a sim a firefighter and she caught her house on fire.

Sims 3 graphically is quite beautiful imo. Sims 2 sims were so creepy looking, Sims 3 ones look at lot more normal. Their facial expressions are really what makes it for me. I could sit and take pics of my sims all day long. :B

Aww, sucks, I was in a similar boat for a while. :c I eventually installed it on my sister's computer and it ran like shit. Then I got myself a snazzy new computer. 8D
I don't think the system requirements are that bad, the box is telling me that you need a 2.0 GHz processor if on XP, 2.4 GHz if on Vista. Mine is 2.8 iirc and I run 7, and it goes without a hitch, if that's a frame of reference. Then for RAM you need 1 GB if on XP, 1.5 if on Vista. Hard drive space shouldn't be a problem for really anyone, I think everyone can manage 7 GB.
Then graphics card, but I'm using integrated graphics and it looks quite nice.
But if you're on an older computer then :c
