Well, Serebii and other places have them, and I thought that with the upcoming release of Black and White, it would be neat to have a thread dedicated to us sharing what we're doing in our games.

This doesn't need to be specifically for B & W, of course, otherwise I'd be posting this in a month or so.

No, Whatever you're doing in any Pokemon game, whether you're breeding for something, challenging a gym leader, or whatever.

It can be a nice way for us to share with each other and maybe keep each other jazzed about the games and motivated to play, and even to train, etc.

I'll go ahead and start, I suppose.

Currently, I'm playing Platinum.

I'm on Iron Island in the secret cave facing Registeel. I started resetting for a shiny about a year ago, but I'm not consistent with it or anything. Just whenever I feel like it, I go and SR for like 20 minutes or so.

Currently, I've got about 2,500 resets into it, by my estimation.

YOU WILL BE MINE, you Nazi Golem! Posted Image

I'm currently trying to raise an army of Eeveelutions, but it's VERY slow going. It's hard to train them on wild Pokemon alone, and I hate leaving them at the Daycare. :(

You're using SoulSilver, right?

You should be able to get trainer rematches with people in your phonebook. The Gym Leaders too, but i doubt from the sound of your post that they're anywhere near that level yet.

here's a page that details the rematch mechanics, if you're interested.

http://www.serebii.n...r/rematch.shtml

If you're using one of the Sinnoh games, there's the VS Seeker which basically lets you challenge any trainer in the game except for Gym Leaders, lawl.

I'm considering starting a game over... don't know which one yet. I really want to do a Nuzlocke chellenge, and do a comic based on it, but the concept of Nuzlocke makes me sad.

Another thing I want to do is go through a game without evolving any of my pokemon.

Have an awesome team of basic forms like Totodile, Pidgey, Gastly, etc.

But I figure if I do, with school and all, I won't make much progress by the time Black and White come out. XD Plus I need to wait until after tomorrow at least so I can go get my Pikachu and Suicune.

I need to post more often. lol.

I am sad to say that I currently cannot locate my Heart Gold game. I took it out of my DS to play Phoenix Wright, and I cannot find it now. So I have no other news than that

I haven't been playing a whole lot lately. Whenever I do play, I've been doing random shiny hunting in the wild (right now I'm looking for Horsea) or in the GTS looking for shinies I can trade for. I also have something in the Day Care I was trying to breed for a shiny, but I can't remember what it was. It might have been Houndour.

I have a pretty nice collection of shinies going on right now. :D

Currently, I'm getting ready to restart my Diamond Version.

I've gone through all the storage boxes and narrowed it down to 18 pokemon that I want to save, most of them being my in-game team and the various event pokemon and a couple legendaries... this way, it's three even trades.

I'm going through on Pearl, HeartGold, and SoulSilver and catching 6 throwaways to trade over.

Now, I want to ask you guys... what type of challenge should I do?

I've got it narrowed down to four main choices: Nuzlocke (with my own variation on the rules), Monotype, single (where you use one pokemon for the entire game), or No Evolution (Not evolving any pokemon in my team).

I've done a Monotype before on my Sapphire, I think... I did Flying Type with some neat results.

I also want to make it into either a comic or a journal/story type thing... so certain challenges might have more potential for story purposes, I guess.

So what do you guise think? I've got about half of my throwaways caught and I'll be trading tonight. :D

Okay, so I just started Diamond over...

I've decided on doing Nuzlocke, with a milder set of rules.

- can only catch the first pokemon encountered in an area. If the pokemon faints or you fail in some other fashion, you must move on to another area.
- If a pokemon faints, rather than releasing it, it is to be placed in the box permanently.
- healing items, such as potions and antidotes may only be used on the starter pokemon. All other healing must be through a Pokemon Center or similar location.
- Do not use the Master Ball, for any purpose.
- If you lose a battle and white out, it is considered a game over unless there are pokemon in the box that have not been killed and stored, in which case you can take those unused pokemon and continue.
- No Duplicate captures. This includes pokemon in the same family. If the first pokemon you encounter belongs to a family that is already accounted for, you may attempt the second.
- SPECIAL CASE: If a shiny pops up, no matter what, I am going to try and catch it. If it's past my window to catch it by the normal rules, I will immediately trade it to another game. (and not use the pokemon I get in return)

I still haven't decided on whether I want this to be a comic or written story... I'm not sure I'd be all that great at the comic, as I struggle when i try and draw... abbreviated or comic-like versions of anything. It's hard for me to decide on what parts to leave out, exaggerate, etc. Though this could be a good learning project, I suppose.

EDIT- went with the story, after about 50 times changing my mind. I'll be doing some illustrations to go along with it though. :D

Oh, and chapter 1 is up. XD

My SoulSilver and Heartgold games are currently on hold until I can get done what I need to get done for those.

I've been playing Pearl as of late - mostly just training a random BS team that I'm only using since SS/HG are on the shelf. I've been battling trainers in the cafe in the Platinum game quite a bit as well, since most of my teams are in that game.
On the edge,
I look in.

Well, I've gone ahead and finished the Kanto circuit in HeartGold. I couldn't wait any longer lol.

But I also started over in my SoulSilver game; which I probably shouldn't have, because that means I've lost all my Wi-Fi event Pokemon, including the only Lvl. 5 Mew that I had. Oh well. At least I have a Mew in my Pearl game.

As far as SoulSilver goes, I'm just about ready to challenge the Mahogany Gym, and then go to the Radio Tower. Normally, I do Lake of Rage/Mahogany Town right after Ecruteak, but this time, I decided to change course, and clear out Cinawood and Olivine first. Save the best for last. Go me.

Current team is as follows:

Philyra (Flaafy)
Alanine (Umbreon - Just evolved last night!)
Ravyn (Lapras)
Elaine (Miltank)
Skye (Noctowl)
Noir (Vulpix - Lead Pokemon)

Miltank is actually a pretty good Pokemon, believe it or not.
On the edge,
I look in.

If you have a Flaafy, use it. It's Static will help tons.

If not, anything that either causes Paralysis or Burn will help. It also helps to have a Noctowl, since they learn Reflect at an early level. Female Pokemon are a must too in this Gym.

I tried to wait and wait so that I could trade them over to my HeartGold game and keep them safe, but I ran out of patience, and I was getting bored with HeartGold. There's really not much to do after the Kanto circuit is done, except for training, which gets boring incredibly fast =/
