My thoughts on the secret ending of Birth by Sleep:

Holy crap huge. Like, wow. Massive. I am wowed. Amazing stuff.

For anyone who didn't get it, Aqua was most definitely talking to Ansem the Wise, and since he was talking about the boy who can connect his heart with anyone, followed by everyone who matters saying "Sora," you can bet your damn ass that this happens AFTER Kingdom Hearts II.
Is this the Nobody of Ansem the Wise?

And at the very end, with Sora, Riku, and Kairi, I didn't catch ANY of what they were saying, except for the last word. Kairi tells Sora "Itterashai" which is a Japanese expression you say to someone when they leave to go to work.
Gosh, why would Kairi be telling Sora that? Maybe he has a new mission to go on? Maybe this game fucking set up for Kingdom Hearts III holy shit YES?!

AND HOLY SHIT I GOT THAT WITHOUT EVEN SPEAKIGN THE LANGUAGE.

I could have sworn I remembered them saying they weren't gonna set up for KHIII though... not that I mind.

and it sure as hell takes place after KHII, at least the scene on Destiny Islands. It picks up pretty much exactly where the ending of KHII leaves off. I am now even more stoked for this game.

Maybe not KH3. Nomura said he's not sure yet if the next game in the series will be KH3, so it could very well be a new game called Kingdom Hearts: Reconnect.

But I am still gloating that I was right about needing to save Terra, Ven, and Aqua. :happy:

THAT was what I was thinking of... he said it might not necessarily be KHIII.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was a possible name, or the intent of the next game. Like... Sora needs to reconnect Kingdom Hearts. I'm thinking that that was probably Ansem's Nobody too, Tristan.

Also, notice Terra, in his normal state, came to find Ven... does this mean that Terra has been restored to his former self? or was that just a scene for the video, indicating that the two of them needed to be saved as well.

I think it was just like, a symbolic scene. Both of them are kind of... not in their own bodies, in a sense.

But I think reconnect is referring to reconnecting Terra, Ven, and Aqua more than anything.

I still don't get what "Birth by Sleep" means. XD

I always assumed 'birth by sleep' referred to how Sora was reborn in a sense when he was put into the pod to have his memories returned to him.

but in the case of this game... from my understanding Ven ends up in the Chamber of...Awakening? Perhaps he has gone to sleep to await Sora returning his soul to him (in the form of Roxas) and to be reborn?

I had that worded a lot better in my head... fail

I'm not thinking that it's Ansem's Nobody... but maybe it's just Ansem, himself? When he 'died' after his machine blew up, maybe he was sent to the Realm of Darkness, and is stuck there (once again, because of Xemnas.) And Aqua ended up there, as well.

Maybe, but I still think it's a bit weird of a name for this game.

Also, fun fact. Here's what MX says to Terra before stealing his body-

"His heart once again belongs to darkness. In the world, all things begin and end with darkness. The heart is the same. Darkness sprouts inside, grows, and consumes it. This is its nature. In the end... every heart will return to darkness from which it came."

Sound familiar to anyone?

Seriously. The entire situation with Vanitas being Ven's extracted darkness, looking exactly like Sora, and this "X-Blade" nonsense all sounds like an awful fan-fiction.

At least there's Aqua to make up for all of that!

Oh, that's what he said? SO epic. :3 I love tiebacks like that.

And yeah... I love KH, but in a way I'm kind of dissapointed with all of the outcomes... The Terranort thing (kind of) for obvious reasons, and the whole Ven/Vanitas thing seems kinda stupid.

Also, in the Secret Ending, did it hint that Sora's going to save ALL of the people who said his name? Because that'd be ultra fan services, especially bringing back Axel and Xion.

Or were they just put there for figurative purposes? o.0

I think them being there in the ending WAS the fanservice, haha. Nomura said himself that there's really no way to bring Xion back, and as much as I love Axel, I don't see how Nomura could bring him back at this point, either. But yeah, I agree, I'm disappointed with Terra, as well as Ven/Vanitas... though Aqua makes up for everything! Goddamn I love her.

I am really liking Aqua's story... Looking forward to Sora meeting up with her when he heads to the Realm of Darkness. (inevitable at this point, I would think.)

Ansem and Aqua don't really have any choice at this point.

Sora and Riku would have been trapped there forever as well if it weren't for the door to light opening and sending them home.
