...It's kinda meh. It's a notch above CoM, but not by much. The controls are pretty clunky... it's heard to move around with the d-pad in a 3-d environment, KH1 camera problems return, only worse this time around. The graphics are... pretty nice, but not as good as I expected them to be. Judging by the lack of touch screen usage (not even the main menu can be used with it) DS release was really just a way to market to a broader audience, nothing to do with innovation. The panel system is pretty interesting, especially with the leveling up being controlled by the player's panels. Plus all of the nostalgia of getting to fight alongside every organization member, that's a great thing. I wish the multiplayer was through wi-fi though, makes it rather limited. Mission mode is MUCH harder solo than it is main game, so having friends to play with in that section is a must. I have to say though, it drew 5 1/2 hours out of me, which was really surprising. The storyline is good enough to engross you, despite its flaws. So far, all of the FMV cutscenes have just been rehashes from Final Mix+ and the rest of the series, I've only even heard Xion's battle grunts so far. xDD
Now all of this isn't to say it's not a good game; on the contrary, I like it, but I'm not wowed by it. It's a welcome addition to the series, however, and I'm not entirely disappointed.
General critic consensus is 8/10, though I think 7.
Welcome to TKK!

I don't really know yet...
I'm kinda disappointed by how extremely bonded you are to missions, but I haven't played it for very long yet, so maybe that'll change. For now, I kinda miss how you're able to roam around freely like you were in KHI and KHII. Now, you can only go somewhere if you have a mission there and you have to meet certain, specified goals.
Luckily I hadn't expect anything from the graphics, since it's a DS game, therefore a Nintendo game and therefore almost as a rule lacking in graphics when/if you compare them to the playstation graphics. Nintendo was never known because of their good graphics, quite the opposite really.
But I too like the nostalgic feeling the game creates with even as little as just the game music. The panels are quite interesting, but they are also limiting. In my opinion anyway.
Well, maybe I should get back to this whenever I finished the game, if I ever will. I usually almost never beat games, because I hate it when a game ends. I delete everything related to it, to start all over again several months or even years later.

My opinion on it has changed a little bit. I'd say I'd bump it up to an 8/10, the replay value is a lot higher than other KH games, and I've heard really promising things about multiplayer. It's sucked nearly 30 hours of my life away at this point, but most of that is mission and optional junk. xDD

I have 44 hours of gametime so far. Already completed it a while ago, now working on collecting and completing everything.
I found the game really enjoyable. I liked doing missions for the Organization, it was something new. It started to get a little old towards the end, but that's probably the fact that I wanted to complete it so I could see the ending. The last level/boss battle was amazing, easy but amazing.
After playing this, I will definitley buy a PSP just for Birth By Sleep.
Oh, and the Kingdom Key+ weapon completely owns.

I had to give it back to my brother. I got to day 150-something. He's gonna let me borrow it again sometime, though. But it was really fun to play, as far as I got.
