Well this is a difficult decision to make. I can understand why you'd want critiques, but I ultimately agree with Strax and kks. To be perfectly honest, when I saw that you made a new critique thread right after submitting your sotw, I felt a bitter taste in my mouth. Even more so when I realized that what you were asking for was just finishing details that can be easily fixed from msn feedback, so in essence not worthy of a thread. Wearing your sig is perfectly fine and asking for help is fine too. Kks asked me for feedback on msn and I have no problem with that. I'd say if someone really needs help, with like finding the right effects or text or whatever - basically meaty stuff - can make a thread asking for help. Otherwise there's no point in fishing for critiques that you don't really need - if you're satisfied enough to submit it already, then go with it and wait for the voting critiques.

Also, this issue isn't even worth raising hairs over and wishing to quit if the final decision is not to your liking, in my opinion. That's fighting over superficial details.

I got your message, and you know what I said. I am going to get shit regardless and I am trying hard to find middle ground.

I respect this board and the people who visit, which is why I told ikaika to post this in the discussion thread, as I could easy add a rule without anyone's input. Don't take advantage of my generosity to allow members input in what goes on with the SOTW.

I set up my SOTW as a battle of skills and improvement. If someone isn't getting any vote, know I would want someone to tell him in that thread what he could improve on. I set it up for voting and critique.

again... regardless of what I do, I'll get shit on my face. I will deal with this when I can find middle ground.

... I post a topic whenever I make new sigs. I was happy enough with it to post it and didn't even apply any critique I did get and didn't plan to. It was just a showcase thread. I'm sorry I treated our GFX section like a GFX board, it won't happen again.

In fact, I'll keep my gfx to gfx sites. You guys can run SOTW and the graphics section however you want.

Well like I said, this issue is not worth leaving over.


If members leave because of this little thing, SOTW will fall again without the right amount of members to participate in it.

I still don't see how getting advice over MSN is any better, but whatever, I don't plan on getting modification crit for my SotW entries anyway. :\

I'm not leaving, obviously, since I'm administrator. I'll just be posting my GFX elsewhere.

If we're allowing critique everywhere except on the board, I don't see why we don't just allow it here.

If Becky wasn't planning on resubmitting, she just wanted to make a showcase thread, which is what several people do with several graphics, then what's the big deal? One shouldn't have to wait for seven days to get feedback, you know?

If someone has critique on a submitted piece, then they should be able to give it, whether it be on the day of its submission or seven days afterward, when everyone gives critiques on all entries. If the creator recognizes that they can't create a drastically improved version of their submission and then resubmit it, then there's no real problem that I see.

OK, let me lay out my thoughts a little more clearly here, I think that some of you are getting all uppity with no real reason here, this is discussion, and you shouldn't take things personally.

Anywho, back to my thoughts. I'm not saying that getting CnC is bad, cliff and I both helped eachother with our submissions, mostly because we're in the same room. And honestly, I would think that if Nysha wanted CnC, she'd message, cliff, me, or whoever else, most likely another gfx person to get it. What I have issue with is asking for CnC, BEFORE you've submitted, from the people who are going to be voting on it. Basically, normal members of the forum, who in general don't make gfx themselves. That's the reason I have a problem with posting a topic about it on the forum, and showcasing it in general. If you get CnC from the people voting on it, you're going to end up editing it to their likes instead of what you'd originally have made to your own likes, and that is unfair. By posting a topic about it, you are allowing for CnC from everybody, instead of just one or two people if you did it over IM's and such, and that, combined with what I said just previously, is what makes me dislike it.

Not really, I have an issue with posting your sig in a topic before submitting, I've laid out my reasons, I haven't threatened to back out if I don't get my way, and I haven't been being sarcastic either. I posted my thoughts in here to bring up discussion about it, and find out others opinions. I haven't said "THIS NEEDS TO BE A RULE" I said, this is a problem I have, lets address it. We have, and obviously some people are taking it way too personally, so I'm dropping it, forget it, it's not worth it if people are going to get all pissy.

I would like to see critiques in the voting thread for that weeks submission, but life doesn't work the way you want it. Everyone has opinions and this doesn't need to get out of hand. I again respect the input from everyone enough to hear what you all are saying. I can put aside my opinion for what is best for the SOTW.

I am just going to end up not adding any such rule since everyone is getting worked up for nothing. I am willing to do something I don't like or want to do, and still be apart of this SOTW. You need to learn how to do the same, life doesn't always works on your side and you need to roll with the punches . Acting like a spoiled brat who doesn't get there way isn't going to do anything and your just going to lose the respect of people. This is to everyone in this topic, including me!

Why is Verses only the theme? To me it would have made allot more sense for you to do FF13, FFV13 and FFA13 as one because none are out and it somewhat eases the lack of stock for each one.

Also Cry Baby ... I mean Cry Becky ... I mean Becky, why don't you just make your sig for SOTW, post it in SOTW wait until voting is over, then post it in a showcase topic? I mean you really instant gratification?

But I do agree you should be able to put them in your sig the second you make them, and so do half of last weeks competitors it seems since they all did so. That's not a number you really want to argue with Kk_s or soon you wont have a SOTW section to impose your dimwitted rules on.

First, the issue was already decided upon and dropped.

Second, any maker could get instant gratification anyway because people could apparently comment on the entries in the discussion thread even before the voting.

In other news, I've counted up everyone's posts in this forum and given them the munny they should have gotten in the first place. The problem's been fixed, and posts in this forum should now count for munny.

Again, what Strax said the issue has been dropped. And if you paid attention to anything that was said, I could care less if you posted your freshly made sig for SOTW in your signature area. And any rules are and will continue to be discussed here in this topic. This "dimwitted" rule was a concern of another member and everyone had their chance to talk it over. So I am not imposing anything, and I am willing to listen to all opinions, over my own.

I was pleasantly surprised when he entered it. It's a good sig - simple and effective.

Bleh I should have known everyone would do Noctis...I should have done Stella like Icky XP ...not that it would matter
