I mean, I'm not saying I don't do that shit, but like... Shut up. The world would be exactly the same if pot was legal. In fact, it is. Go to Prague.
Afraid not, Millions of people arrested a year over possession of marijuana. The drug tests hair, blood, urine all costs money. Not to mention it would lower crime rate and keep so we don't have to build jails and prisons every 24 hours. There's a lot more money we could be using then fighting the world on drugs. 3/4 of the DEA funding goes to marijuana. So little Timmy gets busted for smoking a doobie while Jim Bob is still making meth in his basement. As smart as you both are I'm surprised as hell that you both think it would just be the same.
I'm afraid I have to agree with Obbs here. I know what you guys mean in that if marijuana had been legal in the first place, then maybe the pot scene in the US would be more like Prague, but the difference in the actual situation here is that marijuana WASN'T illegal in the first place. Legalizing it would make crime rates drop significantly, forcing less money to be spent on arrests, lawsuits, and correctional facilities (detox, rehab, jail/prison, etc.)
Not only that, but legalizing marijuana might mean the commercialization of marijuana, turning it into a commodity. I don't know the likelihood of this, but would it not then become possible that marijuana could become a mass-produced commodity? This would make it easy for people to find marijuana without having to go behind alleys, and risk getting laced herb. (I've heard some dealers will lace weed with cocaine to get people addicted, so the dealer can in turn make more money.)
